Pinfold No.4 Signal
If any of you fine folk out there can shed any light on this wonderful signal at Uttoxeter, please, please get in touch!
The signal is Pinfold's Up Outer Home carrying Uttoxeter West's Up Outer Distant below it. What the grainy 1927 aerial photograph from Britain From Above shows appears to be a fantastically convoluted bracket affair to cantilever the signal over the up sidings. For reasons which don't make much sense at this distance (time and photography-wise) is why there is a co-acting arm below. A better view of this structure would be wonderful.
